WHY COUNSELLING? BENEFITS TYPES OF PROBLEM SEX THERAPY PEOPLE SAY
Why might I need Counselling?
The stresses and strains of everyday life, personal viewpoints and change in general will cause tensions in all relationships at some time, particularly with partners in adult couple relationships and with work colleagues. Statistically, however, the most significant areas of distress for employees who consult workplace counsellors are not work but family related, in particular to marital and sexual partnership relationships. Anxiety engendered by disappointment, disillusionment, anger and powerlessness in the face of a disintegrating love relationship or the collapse of family stability has a direct impact on a worker’s performance. They may well lack enthusiasm, commitment and energy which they had previously displayed. Others may manage a high level of work performance for some time by splitting the personal and professional, the home and the workplace but this does not resolve their inner turmoil and sense of anguished bewilderment.
Spending time away from home and work in a safe environment where problems can be explored, and working with a counsellor or therapist to find ways of making some changes, is something that most clients find really helpful.
